Markdown Logo Anda berbicara bahasa Indonesia? Baca artikel terjemahannya di sini! A few years ago, when I was in the college, I don’t even know what Markdown was. It wasn’t a programming language, and learning it had no effect on my GPA. Skip to graduation and entering the professional world, I began knowing bit by bit about this simple markup language, especially when I was trained to use GitHub. Instantly, I felt that Markdown is the right language for me, who writes a lot, and asked myself why I hadn’t learned it earlier. Compared to your traditional word processing techniques, Markdown offers unparalleled simplicity and speed. For example, you just need to add asterisks (*) to make the text either italic, bold, or both. To create headings, just use hashtags (#). The more hashtags you use, the lower the header rank is. Creating lists are also much simpler. The all-new Technoverse Markdown Editor. With the new blossoming love for the language, I decided to create a simple web-based Markdown editor which instantly converts Markdown syntax to either HTML code or page with just a simple toggle. Try it out. I’ve just posted it live. To fully experience the real-time editing, …

Facing Thesis Exam: An Experience

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

Every year, universities produce hundreds of thesis books.Maybe yours is one of them? Anda berbicara Bahasa Indonesia? Baca artikel terjemahan ini di sini. Just a few days ago, I went through one of the most significant obstacle to end another phase of my life: thesis exam. The term ‘thesis’ here belongs to a task that a student must do in order to graduate from an undergraduate program. Many people consider this one last roadblock to be agonizing, fearful, and of course, scary. I don’t blame them… because I, too, was in panic a few days before the exam. But hey, I did it. And now I’m going to share my experience with you guys. Why Scary? A few years ago, when I was in my second year, I asked myself, “Why do people consider this scary? It’s just a presentation, there should be nothing to worry about.” At that time, I heard many of my upperclassmen finished the exam with either a stellar score or merely a few revisions. The next year was the time when I had to withdraw my statement. More of my upperclassmen didn’t make it… or they made it, but with a long list of what …

The Blog is Translated On Vectorstate.net!

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

Well, I’ve been thinking about this for a month and over, but I’m really pleased to announce that the sister blog http://vectorstate.net is up. Well, that actually depends on what is the definition of a “sister site”. To me, the definition of “sister site” is a site connected to another site. In this case, http://vectorstate.net is connected closely–really, really closely to this blog. Why, because both sites are maintained by the same person: me. What’s the difference, then? Well, first of all, let me remind you that I’m an Indonesian. I initially opened this blog to train my English writing skills. However, the next thing I want to do is to become a blogger in my own country, by writing contents in my own language. That’s why the only language you’ll see there is Indonesian. My initial plan was to write one article in two languages: English and Indonesian. One example of such content is the review of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro Review here. You’ll see a link the first time you see the post, which will lead you to the translated article. As time flies, however, I think I’ll differentiate the content as well. The http://vectorstate.net will have contents more related …

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Review: Metal on Budget

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Official Shots Do you speak Indonesian? You can read the translated article here.Xiaomi has always been known as a one strange phone company. It always wows its customers with decently-specced Android phones with affordable price tags which is usually half the asking price from a renowned company. The company just unveiled their flagship Mi5 and a more budget-friendly Redmi Note 3 Pro. The “Pro” moniker is given to distinguish it from its older sibling, which is powered by Mediatek’s Helio X10. We’ll go over the difference in a bit. At first I was lost, between purchasing this or the Mi5. However, due to reasons concerning my financial condition, I decided to to choose the cheaper one. Don’t get me wrong, I love them both but I chose the cheaper because of the price, screen size, and battery. I initially wanted to buy Redmi Note 3, so basically I got what I had wanted. Okay, after using the device for roughly a month, I’m finally ready to share my experience and as usual, I’m going to divide the review into several sections to make it easier to read. So, what are you waiting for? Head on past …

Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad Review

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

Well, hello again. I’m sure that everyone’s fine. Currently, I’m in the middle of a vacation to Malaysia. Yes, after weeks of hard work and pulling all-nighters, I could finally enjoy some serenity and peace. And, yeah, I managed to get myself a great piece of tech… although at first I doubted that I needed it. Item’s Press Render Behold, Logitech’s Ultrathin Keyboard Cover. This baby is probably one of the best product hybrids, combining Apple’s Smart Cover and a comfortable tactile keyboard. Logitech is one of veterans in the industry, so it doesn’t need any questions when it comes to product comfort and durability. Best of all, to commemorate me getting this baby, I’m writing this whole review with the keyboard, though it’s not written entirely on the iPad, since somehow Blogger in my iPad refuses to process images. However despite that, now there’s really no reason not being productive while abroad, isn’t there? Hit the break, and you can read the rest of this post. NOTICE:What I’m reviewing is the version intended for iPad2 until iPad with Retina Display (one generation before iPad Air). Logitech is also offering this product for iPad Air and iPad Mini. I’m pretty …

Locating A Bluetooth Headset

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

This morning, just a few hours ago when I got up, I got a really, really nasty surprise. I lost my Bluetooth headset. No, it wasn’t stolen, and I was certain about it because I had taken it to my room the night before. I was really worried and anxious, not only because it’s an expensive piece of tech, but also because it’s a gift from someone special. I’m a kind of efficient guy, and I’m not the type to completely look at every drawer and opening I have, so I Googled for a way to locate it. For Android users, there’s an app called Headset Trackr which, well, tries to locate your lost headset. I looked at the App’s details in Play Store, and I didn’t think it’s useful for me because I was certain I was standing in the same room as my headset. The app basically searches for your headset and put it in Google Maps. I frankly don’t know about the details, but I just didn’t think it would work, at least for that situation. Fortunately, I also found a more practical solution, thanks to whoever wrote this. The writer apparently had experienced the same thing I …

BOLT! 4G Mobile Wi-Fi Review

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

If you’re a guy who always follows how technologies advance, then you must know 4G. Yes, the next generation of GSM network (and also CDMA) promises clearer voice quality and significantly faster data transfer. Though that sounds fantastic, the availability of such network is currently limited to a handful of countries. Heck, even the next generation 4G (like LTE-A and 5G) is currently being deployed and developed respectively as we speak. BOLT! is the first operator to offer4G network in Indonesia One of the countries that is currently preparing for 4G network is Indonesia. No offense, but I’m kind of pessimistic, since the 3G networks here suck pretty bad. But it’s not that all bad. While telco operators are testing 4G networks in various locations, there’s already one new kid on the block offering the sweetness of 4G network. Well, Folks, let me introduce you to BOLT!, a new operator which focuses on delivering 4G data. Unfortunately, it’s currently available in select Jakarta regions only. But hey, we know it’s coming, right? Better, they’re offering devices at a heavily subsidized price, one of which I’m going to review today. Interested? Well, get past the break and wonder no more! The …

What I Learned This Semester

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

Another semester has finally come to an end. As I get older and progress through my university years, there are more and more things I learn. The lessons aren’t all about computers and technology, but also about life, adapting with society, and so much more. No, this isn’t another assignment that I have to do to pass a subject. This post is purely from me, who want to share what I’ve learned so far this semester – fourth semester. If you ask why… Well, I can only say that in my opinion, this semester is probably the hardest I’ve ever gone through yet. There are so much things I’ve learned. If you’re interested, then you’re welcome to head through the break and read the rest of my post. Management is Key Everybody knows that good management is the key to good, organized life. Theoretically, everybody wants it and it’s easy to implement. Unfortunately, in real life, it’s not that easy. Most of us humans, like it or not, are plagued by laziness, which makes us procrastinate over and over again. That, I learned in this semester. As I approached the end of the semester, so did the deadlines. I didn’t …

Excuse Me for Layout Change

In Uncategorized by Bintoro Adi GunaLeave a Comment

Hi everyone. If you’re a regular here, then you should notice that there’s a small design change in my blog. Yes, my application for AdSense has just been accepted. I’ve been trying to register for the service for years, but finally, it was accepted a few weeks ago. I too didn’t notice the change until I got an email from Google. Anyway, right now I’m still focusing on fixing the layouts of my blog, putting even further aside posting new articles. My finals are done, and there are only 2 projects that I have to finish before the end of the month. Until then, I might not post anything. Thanks for your support, Guys! I hope I could meet you again 🙂 Taken from terra-novae.blogspot.com
